THE ENGLISH FURNITURE
This is a classroom furniture, but do not necessarily correspond to any home! The English furniture was indeed a noble connotation rather than popular, but obviously everyone's tastes (and origins). It is cozy, solid and refined, and whatever the time of which we speak. Whether the period of the Middle Ages to the sixteenth century (Tudor), the seventeenth century (Stuart, when Cromwell, the restoration), or the eighteenth century (William and Mary period, Queen Ann style, early Georgian style, rococo Chippendale, neo-gothic, Robert Adam, the Georgian period, the American furniture), or the nineteenth century (Regency style, the American furniture, Victorian) , we often find the same spirit. What about the Sheraton again, this style so characteristic of English furniture between 1790 and 1805 and about which owes its name to Thomas Sheraton (1751-1806), furniture designer and author of publications, with their wide dissemination, exerted a profound influence on the furniture of the time? As noted, on the other hand, the influence of French artists on the artists English after the Exposition des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels in Paris in 1925 (Robert Adam, Thomas Chippendale ...).
In terms of different types of English furniture, note the famous "make" English word denoting this furniture introduced in Britain in the Middle Ages and which could be commonly seen in the rustic houses until the seventeenth century. It is simply a piece of furniture in two parts, the upper body with open shelves and drawers of the lower body and two wings. As for the wood used include the plane of least resistance so easy to work, often used by English furniture makers. It gives furniture yellow-brown or reddish. The British also use flax oil to treat the furniture in pine and larch, simply because the product is one of the rare fatty substances to be dry. What is not negative because it gives the furniture a patina unique. What
equal pleasure that one feels in reading a Harry Potter in his library, caressing the little cabinet next to the English dug detour from a trip and is unique for us ... unless you prefer to take a cup of tea with friends, sitting comfortably on the chairs so typical of solid wood with their case "X" and their shapely legs .... Not forgetting of course, the foot-style golf club!
