Workshop Residence Belloc (Ariege) Since last summer, Excursus A opened an "antenna" in Ariege, which is currently taking place in a time created around the show Uju (Korean tales). In the charming hamlet of Belloc, the former school is made available to the company by the municipality of Betchat. With classes premiere of Henri Wallon school in Aubervilliers (93), Marie Tavernier provides an introduction to the production of a short film. These "connections filmed" - fictional or realistic and intimate - between high school students will be traveling to Venice in February 2011 and those who remain in Aubervilliers. Marie Tavernier video director and speaker at its workshops Reality / Fiction Aurélie Steunou-Guégan: Can you retrace your steps a few career? Marie Tavernier After training at the faculty, I began my career in Africa, specifically in Gabon, as an assistant director for fiction. Then I was chief editor for documentaries. And today, I still work in assembly. I also directed films documentaries. ASG: You recently completed the documentary Abandoned beautiful - we loved it. What have you wanted to tell through this film? MT: is a difficult question ... In this documentary, I wanted to put forward the idea that man is above the first element of creation, a being and even a force of creation. The main idea behind Abandoned is to put man at the center of its landscape, its pristine environment. ASG: What projects are you working now? MT: As Last year, I lead workshops at the Lycée Henri Wallon in Aubervilliers. Last year the workshop was called Still Images / Moving Images, and after watching several film clips, we realized with the students three short films. This year, the workshops call themselves Reality / Fiction and concern three classes first. It is a more structured project, supported by three teachers, who became an optional extra for these students. I work with groups of about ten students. I like the idea of working with small groups as well as everyone realizes, causes something strange and surprising too. It is the consciousness that everyone can express surprise that matters to me at the bottom. Immersed in a search with the making of the documentary Abandoned, I always desire to work with these workshops on the concept of landscape. A broad concept and thus open to proposals from students. ASG: What are your activities in Excursus A Coy? MT: I'm intervener precisely for these workshops and participates in all projects related to image, video. I work in assembling all the films of the Co. ASG: What approach have you adopted for your workshops Fact / Fiction? MT: This year the starting point they are "letters filmed. Two classes go to Venice to Reality / Fiction and class remains in Aubervilliers. Around this trip, I'll go with the participants filmed letters - that matches video - among students who will stay in Aubervilliers and those who go to Venice, letters that aesthetically may relate to reality or fiction . Images taken no students left in Venice will be mounting of a return to France. The project is underway, we must still address several details. As I said earlier, the biggest surprise is that everyone and invest in a concrete project. That each makes a personal film project. ASG: Would you like to develop in the future other workshops related to the video? MT: Yes, completely. But always with small groups of students. I do not know yet what will give, in terms of outcome, the workshop project this year. We are in testing. But I like love this idea of letters and filmed like to put up soon with the company, a project of video connections like this is already happening with the project Nadège Milcic "Matches sound." ASG: To be continued ...
